Internet Use Policy

The Daily Star in Oneota, New York reported today pornography was recently found on a computer owned by Delaware County. The county's Board of Supervisors subsequently voted to issue a computer-use policy for county employees.

As the paper points out, this is a move that is long overdue. The growing number of sexual harassment cases stemming from Internet pornography in the workplace make it necessary to have a clearly outlined policy. An office that does not have a policy may be opening itself up to further liability and associated costs.

These lost costs are detrimental to businesses - but can be severley damaging for governments running on tight budgets funded by taxpayer dollars.

If you believe your local or state government does not have a computer or Internet use policy let them know you want them to get one. It is your money that is being wasted by government employees and the legal liabilities of surfing pornography in the workplace.
