Porn on Your Cell

Cell phone companies in the United States are planning to allow a wider range of devices and services to use their networks. This will inevitably include pornography. Gregory Piccionelli, an adult-industry lawyer told the Scientific American "It will be impossible to stop the adult business exploitation of mobile entertainment." He also predicted that "that U.S. consumers may soon be offered free porn on mobile phones alongside paid services like live video or "adult dates," a term for prearranged sex with strangers."

Cell phone pornography has already exploded in Europe. It is currently a $775 million industry and expects to grow over $1.5 billion by 2012. Worldwide the cell phone porn industry is expected to be worth $3.5 billion in 2010.

Supporters of cell-phone porn are advocating age-verification technology, already proven ineffective on the Internet, to protect children from porn on their phone. This is nothing more than lip service to the millions of parents who are concerned about their children being exposed to Internet pornography. They know the age-verification tools don't work.

The CP80 Internet Zoning Initiative is the only sure solution that will allow parents to keep pornography out of their child's hands - at home or on their cell phone.
