Finland Communications Minister Suvi Lindén announced the creation of a committee to protect children from dangerous content on the Internet.
Minister Lindén told YLE that society needs to ensure the Internet is safe for children. "This material should be regulated just as strictly as printed material, for example." The announcement comes after the Finnish government shutdown a website with links to child pornography.
Many countries around the world are realizing the growing dangers that the Internet poses to children. Parents are forced to choose between shutting off the Internet or using faulty filters. When will society give them a better choice?
The CP80 Foundation is pleased to offer free training to individuals who wish to learn more about the Internet, pornography, current laws and the CP80 Internet Channel Initiative.
