Internet Pornography Rewires Teen Brains

At the World Congress for Sexual Health being held this week in Sydney, Australia clincial psychologist Dr. Joanie Farley Gillespie indicated that exposure to Internet pornography can cause permanent psychological problems.

"If [teens] look repeatedly at deviant sex, these sex scripts become hardwired in their brain," she said.

Dr. Gillespie explained that during the teen years we are still forming our sexual nature and understanding. Consistent viewing of depraved and deviant sexual behavior can actually wire itself into our sexual nature.

How long can we ignore the mounting research and evidence that pornography carries dangerous and frightening consequences for future generations? Children today spend much of their free time on the web, and are being exposed to Internet pornography at an increasing rate. Are we raising "Generation Porn?"
