ABC NewsOnline in Australia reported Tuesday on the findings of a study by Dr. Olav Nielssen who said that the availability of child pornography shapes the interests of users.
Dr. Nielssen: "Because they have access to the material, they then are able to develop the interest and the interest takes hold."
He continued "It's a bit like gambling on poker machines - when they weren't available, there was nowhere near as many people addicted to it and I think it's a similar kind of thing. . . It's an addiction and it becomes shaped by the material that's available."
Logically it follows that this is true of all pornography. The Internet offers everyone, including children, quick and easy accessibility to depraved, violent, and dark forms of pornography that can shape their sexual attitudes and interests.
The CP80 Foundation reaffirms its commitment to enabling the world to protect children from material that can alter normal psychological and sexual development.
The CP80 Foundation is pleased to offer free training to individuals who wish to learn more about the Internet, pornography, current laws and the CP80 Internet Channel Initiative.
