Dr Ethel Quayle, a consultant from a European based research organization reported in New Zealand this weekend that the number of teens posting self-made child pornography is increasing.
Dr. Quayle indicated that people who are afraid to meet children they met online encourage them to undress in front of a webcam. This is commonly known as "grooming" or breaking down a child's inhibitions and leading them into more dangerous behavior.
Martin Cocker, director of New Zealand's Netsafe program says that many children are posting material without being groomed. He indicated that their friends are putting them up to it.
Children creating their own pornography is a direct consequence of the wide-open access to pornography offered by the Internet. Children lack the emotional and psychological maturity to understand what is being portrayed and often want to act out what they've seen.
It is counter intuitive, counter productive, and flat out dangerous to allow children open access to material that facilitates a warped sexual development, which in turn creates more problems for society.
The CP80 Foundation is pleased to offer free training to individuals who wish to learn more about the Internet, pornography, current laws and the CP80 Internet Channel Initiative.
